Oversized Modern Artwork

In lieu of another holiday post for Christmas, I’m jumping straight into decor ideas for 2011.

A concept which I have always loved is aiming to purchase a few “adult” pieces of furniture or artwork for your child’s room which serve as investment pieces as well as something that your child could keep for many years to come.  The following pieces are graphic simplistic image  prints by Enzo Marni.  The oversize of the prints as well as the overtly basic subjects of the pieces of art draw me to these pieces for a child’s room.

La Mela (44″ x 44″ ) print available here, image via Apartment Therapy

La Pera (44″x44″)

a more humorous note, II Porcello (27.5″ x 17.7″)

And my personal favorite because the colors work with almost any modern decor and color scheme, L’ Oca (44″ x 22″)

Note that all these posters come with basic PVC pipe trim for hanging and I suggest having them professionally framed on 3/4″ white lacquer frames, similar to the first photo sample.

Those pieces are fabulous! I too love the idea of getting investment pieces. And Fine art for kids is a wonderful gift that can be passed down.
