Bye Bye “Modern Baby Blue”

I don’t know about you, but my weekends are filled with home improvement projects and a gardening to-do list I never seem to get to. Since sleeping in is no longer an option these days, we generally work on the house when the kids nap (or if at least one of them does). So after a morning discussion of whether or not we are getting transferred back east, a quick design board and a trip to Lowes, a romantic Saturday night of taping off the old nursery ensued.

For those of you who don’t know the history, I started Project Nursery with my friend Pam because I posted Austin’s new nursery in our LA home, “Modern Baby Blue“. Now it’s sooo not modern (more like transitional) but I titled it that way online a couple years ago because I thought it was a fun take on traditional baby boy blue paint. Nevertheless, it was well received, thank you! I will be sad to see Austin’s nursery go. A moment of silence please.

But my now 8 month old Chase needs a nursery to call his own (now that the house isn’t going on the market…just yet anyway). The original plan was to keep the room the same for number two and just change out the accessories. But the fact that I pride myself on providing nursery design advice, I cannot help but have a tinge of guilt for not creating a unique space for Chase. And so it begins.

I am very happy to be using Olympic Premium Zero VOC paint in White ($22.47/gallon) as well as Valspar branded Chalkboard paint ($12.98/quart). I also can’t wait to crack open the Frog Tape ($7.97) for clean lines. I’ve heard such good things about it.

The inspiration? I had a lot of it and a million different ideas, but ultimately I circled back to my very first love of YELLOW as blogged here when I announced my pregnancy. And all of these rooms below.

Do you see where I am going with this? Stay tuned for a peak into the nursery’s progress over the next couple of weeks!

    Hi Melisa:

Who would have thought? Has it been 2-3 years already?????? I’m excited to see what you could come up for Chase :)

I remember copying some of the things you did for Austin’s room for Lily’s nursery. Now that we are having Meily, I think that I’d copy some of Chase’s room too :)
