Playdate Picnic: Take the Party Outside!

Summer is the perfect time to take your playdates and small parties outside!  Gather up your friends and their children, pack a picnic and spend the afternoon outdoors relaxing in the fresh air (and keep the mess out of your house!).

Keep your picnic food delicious and simple: melon balls on straw skewers, sandwiches cut into flower shapes (using different shaped cookie cutters), and pb & j ice cream sandwiches for dessert.  Pack all of your perishable items in a cooler, and your other items in an easy-to-carry picnic basket.  I love this plastic resin

What are your favorite ideas for entertaining kids outside?  We would love to hear from you!

Outside in the summer for us always involves water, because of our hot FL temperatures! Pools are tops, but a sprinkler and some popsicles can entertain the kids for hours!

We tend to have lots of backyard camping. I think that the kids love it that both parents spend the whole night with them telling them stories, eating simple food (my kids are the hotdogs and marshmallows types).
