Cooking with Kids: No-Bake Desserts for Summer

With summer heating up and the kids out of school….it’s time to find some activities that can keep everyone busy!  Cooking is always a fun activity that everyone can be a part of, but with the temperature rising outside, the last thing you want to do is heat up your kitchen with baking.  I have the perfect solution….simple, kid-friendly, no-bake recipes!  Check out four of my new favorites:

1) First up, a layered ice cream cake from Family Fun.  It’s cute, it’s colorful and although this particular recipe is absolutely perfect for the upcoming 4th….you could also change out the colors to coordinate with any party theme!

2) Who doesn’t like their dessert shaped like an animal?!  Kids will delight in making and eating this cute ice cream frog from Family Fun!

3) A birthday cake made from rice krispies!!  Does it get any more fun than that?!  Let your kids decorate the cake with m&m’s, skittles or licorice.

4) Ice cream bombs…..guests young and old will love this dessert.  And you can customize this recipe from All You with your favorite flavors.  I think this may be my new go-to treat for summer!

Oh, thank you so much for these links! I love desserts, but it can be such a hassle baking or making them. That’s why no-bake desserts are such a blessing! I sure will save the recipes.

Will try the ice cream frog with my little kitchen assistant. I think that’s the easiest to make. I wish they would feature other animals, too. That would definitely be double the fun!
