Theo’s Baby Nursery
I chose to do surf theme/nautical because we have a house in cape cod and I want to take my son there and want him to like the water.

A modern spin on a nautical themed nursery!
We LOVE the ocean and knew we wanted to do some kind of nautical nursery, regardless of our baby’s gender. When we found out we were having a girl, we were surprised at how hard it was to find gender neutral or girl items to decorate with. We chose pink and turquoise to anchor (pun intended) the space with little nods to the sea like the paddle, anchor hooks, rope mirror, woven pouf, and clothing dividers. We also swapped out the hardware on the change table to boat cleats and choose the Nook mattress in Glass color both for safety and because the “pebbles” look like bubbles.
We love the result – just enough of a theme to pull the room together but not too much that things look out of place if they aren’t ocean themed. Our girl Tia loves it!
A modern and minimalist twist on an under the sea nursery!
Sebastians costal nursery. I wanted to create a special space for my baby boy due in February. This makes number 4 for me, so with it being my last baby I was inspired to go above and beyond to create something beautiful. It’s been a minute since I’ve created a boy nursery. I’ve been creating girl nurseries for the past 5 years. The ocean and beach are my happy place and I knew I wanted this room to have that feel. I started with the name sign first. I wanted to display his name in a unique way. I thought what better way than a surf board. Luckily I found a company “Marker Six” on Etsy that made my vision come to life. My in laws just purchased a home in South Carolina. While visiting, I saw this beautiful wallpaper in one of the rooms. The blue and white, and mix of flamingos with palms are what did it for me! It was so elegant and costal. I loved it from the minute I saw it. I do have to give credit to my MIL for the finding. Once I found the wallpaper and name sign , everything else just fell into place. I started mixing boho decor in and beige tones. It really added warmth and made the room feel cozy. I am so proud of this nursery. It’s bittersweet that it is my last! Beach vibes only ✌
When you live in Illinois, winter can be depressing and gray. I wanted my son’s room to be bright and cherry with a tranquil beach vibe — surfer style it is! 🏄♂️
The walls are Sherwin Williams | Glimmer SW6476 — and it’s the perfect shade of cheerful and chill. The pictures above his crib are from Target and they come as a set. The floating shelves are from Ikea for $4.99/ea. The stackable wooden bins are also from Target and great for books and toys. I am still working on a gallery wall for above his dresser. Hang tight– more to come!

We knew we wanted neutral space that incorporated a subtle nod to our love of the beach. We chose mini cribs for our twin girls. Wave decals, surf board growth chart, and drift wood peace sign are our favorite pieces for the space!
I was inspired by Lily Pulitzer’s mermaid cove print while creating a nursery for baby girl #2! I love the bright splashes of blues and pinks and even the touch of lime green. This room theme will be perfect when transitioning to toddler/preschools years.
