Zeke’s Blue and Brown Nursery

We're expecting our first boy in July and wanted a room to express our joy and excitement, as well as provide something with which Zeke could grow.  After many hours of DIY projects and shopping for unique pieces, we arrived at this traditional blue and brown nursery.  Enjoy!

Design Inspiration

Our inspiration was a beautiful color palette of blues and browns.  Once we found the perfect bedding, everything else fell into place!

Decorating Style

Our home is very traditional.  We enjoy integrating modern design, however, with antique and traditional elements.  Zeke's nursery is a perfect fit in our home.

Favorite Items

Mom's favorite part of the room is the comfortable glider, where she'll be spending a lot of time over the next few months.

Dad's favorite items in the room are the book slings (he's a reader!).

Our best advice is to start small - find one or two things you really like and go from there.  Also, incorporate DIY projects into the room.  It adds a bit of yourself to the space and gives you a better sense of pride in what you've created for your little one!

I like the cozy and warm colors. But my favorite is the six-part painting on canvas painted lovingly by dad.

I love that 6-panel art, it's so simple, unique and very beautiful. Kudos to dad on that one. In any case I love this whole room! The colors you chose were just awesome. And the poms! Who would have thought that poms were great to add for a boy's room!
