Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Gender Reveal

Description

A simple and sweet surprise Twinkle Twinkle Little Star gender reveal party.

Design Inspiration

I wanted to use classic pink and blue colors along with the "twinkle twinkle little star" theme which added gold to theme as well.

Decorating Style

I wanted to keep it simple since I was in my first trimester and exhausted.  Other than that I wanted to focus on classic colors and sweet theme.

Project Details

Most of the project was DIY with the exception of the treats.   We used, Sweet Revenge Bake Shoppe, for the cake, cupcakes and star cake pops.  I made the rest of the decorations with the help of Etsy printables, tissue paper, balloons and ribbons.  I created a "twinkle twinkle little star" picture with fun font and framed it as a focal point to the "sweets" table.  Behind the table I used ribbon to create a pretty pink, blue and gold backdrop.  For food we had sweets, chicken sandwich bites, candy, bottled water and pink and blue lemonade.  I created take home boxes so that we wouldn't be left with any cake or treats because this pregnant lady would have eaten it all!  I created pink and blue chalkboard signs that read "Team Boy" and "Team Girl" and asked everyone wear either pink or blue to show what their "guess" was.  I had everyone take pictures as a group, "team boy" and "team girl".  It was a lot of fun and became a competition.  I also made a sign that showed all my symptoms and if those symptoms denoted I was having a boy or a girl.

Favorite Items

My favorite was the surprise of the gender reveal.  I asked the nurse to write the gender on a piece of paper and seal it.  I took that envelope straight to the bakery with the instructions that NO ONE was to know the gender (including anyone who picked up the treats).  They colored the icing inside the cake pink or blue depending on the gender.  My other favorite detail was our fur baby, Lulu, wearing her "Pink of Blue we love you" tshirt.  I wore one as well and my husband wore a matching pin.

Advice

I kept it simple because I was exhausted and excited.  I would recommend also reminding everyone to get there on time so you don't have to wait.  My invitations said we'd announce the gender exactly at noon since we were so excited to know.
