Description
For our first we decided to keep the gender a surprise and in t-minus 16 days we will find out if we will be blessed with a baby boy or girl. Starting with a clean slate for the nursery can be both exciting and overwhelming, which direction to go. We knew we wanted to keep the room neutral, but will a splash of color that would be suitable for both boy and girl which is why our main colors are grey, aqua and coral. Overall our goal was to create a nursery that was inviting and cozy enough that even grandma and grandpa would want to take a nap in the room.
Design Inspiration
Knowing that the nursery would need to be gender neutral I stumbled across this colorful and cozy rug with a tribal twist and it was perfect. The colors were spot on and I loved that this rug would carry through our adventurous tribal theme that our new one will bring.
Decorating Style
Our decorating style is contemporary, clean, inviting and cozy. Our goal is for the room to feel welcoming and comfortable enough that you want to spend the afternoon hanging out, but clean enough that it does not feel overly complicated. I also love the idea that this tribal theme could easily transition to a toddler's room without any major purchases.

Favorite Items
It's hard to pick just one item as we received several hand-knitted items that we love. The rope basket that holds some toys, a grey and white striped stroller blanket and a cream and grey hat were all made by hand and will lots of love.
Advice
Don't get too caught up in everything matching, but instead pick things you love regardless of color or theme. Also, paint is your friend. Find a lamp or frame that you love but that doesn't fit your color scheme; grab a can a paint and transform it in a matter of minutes.
