Remi Lynn’s Nursery

Description

"Crafty" and cute nursery for my sweet baby girl, Remi Lynn, that will soon be here!

Design Inspiration

I loved the colors brown and pink and turqoise together for a baby girl. I didn't want a 'theme' so I just mixed the colors in different patterns.

Decorating Style

Project Details

This sweet nursery was very budget friendly and meaningful to me and my family. The crib and changing table were given to us by friends of the family, very similar to ones we would have picked out ourselves. The bureau is part of a little girl's bedroom set that my mom stained and finished for me when I was a little girl. The rocking chair was my great grandmother's that my mom refinished and cushioned, along with the footstool that was mine and still has my name painted on it under the cushion. After hours of looking at fabric, the two fabrics were my favorite because they had the brown and pink and turquoise and added plenty of color to the brown and white walls. We had the room re-carpeted w/ plush stain resistant carpet and my sweet husband worked hard to put up and 'professionally' finish the beadboard and chair railing. My mom made the curtains from bargain curtains at Target and fabric we chose. I loved the little tassles on the lamp and footstool, thought they were the perfect brown and pink mix that were playful. The 'R-E-M-I' letters were my special project: I wanted them to all be different and unique but still look good together. The cross was made by my grandma out of old jewelry from her mother- special to me. And lastly the verse is one I pray over my sweet baby girl, that I painted on a canvas and placed in a frame that is special to me, another family heirloom :) I don't really have any resources; the room is just a mix of different items I like and some fun craftiness with meaningful special touches!

Favorite Items

My favorite item is the swag lamp/mobile that my mom and I made. I love the different colors and textures with the raggedy edges, along with the funtionality of being and light and a mobile that she will look at while I'm rocking her and feeding her :)

The use of different kinds of fabrics, the different colors, and the different textures make this room really interesting. And as Yszabel says, it's nice that so many family and friends are part of this room, and there so many heirloom pieces too.

Very crafty looking room indeed. And because of that, it looks really warm and cozy, and full of love. It's nice that a lot of people contributed to the room and helped make it look the way it does.
