Marisol’s modern spa and ice cream birthday.

Description

My daughter turned 7 this month in April. She loves ice cream, treats, and girly stuff. So when I saw the party for pottery barn kids I wanted to use it for inspiration. Then we branched out and did spa treatments for the girls as well.

Design Inspiration

Pinterest ideas. HWTM Sykes ice cream party for Pottery Barn Kids.

Decorating Style

I would say modern
We used many styles of pink chevron patterns and glitter

Favorite Items

I started by going to Michael's and picking out pretty scrapbook paper since I usually make everything myself. We found some pretty chevron patterns and glitter paper. I also bought tissue paper for a banner. I started from there. I added ribbon I already had at home. Made the birthday hats with that paper and added some poms balls at the top from Michael's. I also found a chevron stamp at Michael's and used for the party hats and invitations. I bought gold glitter and a wooden frame from Michael's and covered it and printed a free printable from the Pottery Barn Kids page for a build your own ice cream sundae bar. I made some sweet pop corn with M&M's. We also had home made rice crispy treat cones with icing and rainbow sprinkles. I laid pink and white polka dot wrapping paper (Walmart. 99¢ a roll) accross the. middle of the table for a runner. We re-used our glass bottles from my sons first birthday (starbucks coffee drinks) with stripped straws some from target dollar isle and one pack from Michael's (left over valentines ones we got for. 29¢) I brought down my sons vintage dresser for the ice cream bar. We had lots of toppings I put into clear ice cream bowls from Walmart. I got the paper goods including the ice cream bowls at Christmas tree shops. They were perfect. We had gummy bears, M&M's, skittles, bananas, strawberries, peanut butter cookie crumbles, chocolate chips, whip cream and chocolate syrup. I also made a donut cake. She loves donuts so we did that and got them down the road at dunkin donuts. I had a friend of mine make some photo Booth cutout props of mustaches sunglasses and lips. So we had fun taking pictures. The back drop wall was just some peach wrapping paper from Christmas tree shops.with some fringe I.made and my tissue paper Garland. I also made some other paper banners to.hang
One was ice cream cones and the other were triangles. I also made some paper and balloon ice cream cones.to.hang. The living.room we set up as a spa station using my sofa, coffee table and some extra chairs. I bought some tubs for the pedicures at the dollar tree for $1 each. We did avacado masks and nail painting as well. I cut a cucumber and placed in a nice dish and had a large selection of nail polishes, lotions and tools. I made the pom pom balls (they are a Martha stewert knockoff) :) All the girls had a blast.

Advice

My favorite items would be the backdrop with 7 balloon and the spa station. :)
