Marcella’s Dreamy Nursery

Description

A dreamy nursery in soft pinks, white and neutrals with a touch of gold.

Design Inspiration

When we found out that our third child was going to be a girl, I began immediately to dream of a nursery that spoke "peaceful", "natural" and "feminine".

Decorating Style

A perfect combination of new, handmade, second hand and sentimental always makes a room great. I love perfect finishes and symmetry a little too much, which is why I gave the large painted vase an unfinished appearance!

I wanted to play with lighter colours, especially white. Having always been drawn to warm tones, I needed to challenge myself away from that. This project inspired me to think outside my own "box" a little!

Favorite Items

The custom designed crochet blossom wall flower trio from my own business Tiptoe Meadow were so much fun to design for this nursery!

The natural wood crib, dresser and change table are really special because they've been in the nurseries of all 3 of our children. They are definitely items of sentimental value!

The vintage lace curtains and Dutailier glider are also favourites.

Advice

Take your time selecting decor pieces and try out different locations for them. Decide first what ambiance you want your room to have and plan the styling/theme around that.

If you have your eye on an item that is out of your budget try scouting out something similar that's second hand. Be patient. You might score a near perfect condition $800 Dutailier glider and ottoman for $180 like we did!
