Description
A calming playful nursery outfitted for two twins.
Design Inspiration
My client was looking for a calming gender neutral nursery for her two twins. She did not know the sex of the children until they were born (they ended up being girls). The parents had traveled to Indonesia years back and love elephants and monkeys. Since they were having twins we thought it would be fun to have two little monkeys swinging from the mural tree.
Decorating Style
The client's decorating style has a modern eastern vibe. Since the clients live blocks from the beach, we chose white furniture to brighten up the nursery.
Project Details
Cribs: Marlowe Panel Crib from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child
Dresser: Andie by Newport Cottages
Mirror: Z Gallerie
Bedding: Dylan from Serena & Lily
Rug: Trellis rug from Pottery Barn Kids

Favorite Items
My favorite item in the room is the tree mural. It helps create a fun and playful space without being an over-themed room.
Advice
Don't be afraid of using blue as a gender neutral color.

Had twin grandbabies recently and want to know if the mural is freehand or a stencil. Please let me know. 4/10/12

am not a big fan of big stuffed toys like the elephant you have there... what would be a good substitute for it? I am in love with the monkeys, they are so cute!

I love the wall mural. Was this a decal or did you have someone paint it?
