Description
A train themed first-birthday party filled with candy.
Design Inspiration
My husband and I love trains and thought it would be a great theme for our little guy's first birthday party. I got a lot of great ideas from other Project Nursery and Pinterest train parties.
Decorating Style
Modern with vintage touches
Project Details
Most of the decorations were handmade or items I already had around the house (such as the gumball machine, various glass jars, and Conductor Snoopy music box). My best friend made and decorated the cupcakes.

Favorite Items
It's so hard to choose! From a sentimental standpoint, I love the 12 months train banner. It was the perfect way to sum up how my much little guy grew over the first year of his life. I actually used the pattern from a sign-in train that was made for me for my baby shower. I also love the way the tags for the favors came out. Oh, and the cupcakes, and the mailbox, and the train cars...I loved it all!
Advice
For me, it's always about starting with a basic theme, then working on small details and letting the project evolve from there. I started collecting items that were train-related or baby blue and red many months before the party, knowing I would find uses for most of them as I put everything together.
