Description
We wanted a colorful little place that represented our love for traveling in anticipation of giving our little bambino the world. Fin's room is full of collectables from around the world, mix-match antique store finds and decor on a budget.
Design Inspiration
The inspiration for Fin's room was our love for traveling.
Decorating Style
Vintage, rustic, up-cycled.
Project Details
We stuck with colors from an old map...teals, corals, browns and greys. We pieced together 6 fluffy bathroom rugs from World Market to make the perfect size rug for the nursery. We hung paper mache globe balls as the mobile. We found an old boat oar and used that as the curtain rod and we used shower curtains for the window panels. We framed maps, favorite travel quotes and paintings by my husband. The book shelf is full of books from our own childhood.
Favorite Items
Favorite item is the 1960's dresser we scuffed up and raised for a unique changing table.
Advice
First get a color scheme together and stick with it. Visit flea markets, yard sales and antique stores to find unique items.
