Everly Ann’s Coral and Gray Nursery

Description

Our baby girl's nursery is fun without the traditional baby room themes.

Design Inspiration

We based our design on the colors gray and coral, but ended up adding pinks and purples to the mix.  98% of the items are hand-made in the room.  The only two items not are the white crib sheet and pink changing pad cover!  We loved putting our personal touch on everything.

Project Details

Dresser Set:  Found on Craigslist for $300 and did a paint match with our crib at Home Depot.  My husband then painted them and they match perfectly!

Crib: DaVinci Jenny Lind 3-in-1 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/DaVinci-Jenny-Lind-Convertible-White/dp/B002T1HH1I)

Chair: Beckner Chair by Best Chair, Inc (http://www.besthf.com/best/Storytime/Chairs/items/BECKNER)

Fan: Target (http://www.target.com/p/hunter-12-classic-table-fan/-/A-10860264#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink)

Pom Pom Garland: Hand-Made (tutorial found here:http://www.atpennylane.com/2013/04/wooly-wonders-pom-pom-tutorial.html)

E Pillow: Hand-Made

Curtains: Hand-Made (fabric: http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/905797)

Umbra Casa Tissue Box Cover (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005M8GUOK/?ref=as_li_ss_tl&camp=1789&creative=390957&ie=UTF8)

Hair-bow Jar: Target

Owl Mobile: Hand-Made (There are tons for sale on Etsy though if you aren't wanting to spend the time!)

Balloon Artwork: Hand-Made.  We had all of the guests at the baby showers sign their name to balloons and they are carrying a stack of books.  It was perfect since our baby shower themes were bring-a-book instead of a card theme.

Crib "Bumper" and Skirt:  Hand-Made (Note:  I did NOT want our little girl to have a traditional bumper since it scares me.  Instead I sewed a strip of fabric that would rest between the mattress and bed skirt.  This gave me the three tiered look I desired, but did not present a health risk!)

Everly Name Sign:  Hand-Made by our Brother-In-Law

Quilt: Hand-Made (fabric from spoonflower.com and http://www.hawthornethreads.com/fabric/designer/sarah_jane/out_to_sea)

Light: Ikea (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90147465/)

Purple Yarn E: Hand-Made

Note:  We are still looking to add some custom book cases like the ones found here: http://pinterest.com/pin/263319909434139127/  There are only so many hours in a day though!

Favorite Items

My favorite item in the room is her quilt.  While I think it was the vain of my existence for a week straight, I love how it has so many patterns.  There are even squares with Star Wars Characters as toddlers that I added for my husband.  Oh and Narwhal Fabric! :o) Plus I have a baby quilt from my Grandma that means a lot to me now and hope Everly feels the same!

Advice

If you want to hand-make items, be careful not to get overwhelmed.  I made a list of all my items and listed them in order of importance.  This ensured the items that really mattered to me got done first!  Plus, don't be scared to read some online tutorials and try to make items yourself.  You will be surprised by how easy some projects turn out to be.
