Cruz’s Vintage Baseball Nursery

Description

When we first learned we were pregnant, my hubby and I made an agreement: I it's a girl I get a chandelier - if it's a boy he gets a baseball theme. Since I myself am not much of a sports fan, I had to get creative. I wanted a room that would make my sports fanatic hubby happy, but something I could enjoy as well - so I decided to go with a "Vintage" baseball theme.

Design Inspiration

The entire room pays homage to my hubby's years of playing baseball and it turned out to be a lot of fun because I found so many cool ways to incorporate his actual baseball memorabilia!

Decorating Style

I wanted a vintage theme.. but something still appropriate for a baby.

Favorite Items

There are so many things about this room I love it's hard to pick just one! The hand-stitched vintage baseball logo blanket made by my sister and the hand drawn Precious Moments picture from my dear friend are probably my favorites simply because not only are they adorable and personalized, but they're one of kinds you won't be able to get anywhere else. I also love the custom vintage baseball pillow.. the custom piggy bank and the varsity font "CRUZ" sign on the wall.

Advice

My best piece of advice is to start early so you can take your time looking and researching for the perfect buys. Also don't do all your shopping before the baby showers because you never know what you're going to get. Some of our most unique pieces were gifts - ie: Baseball throw, precious moments pic, stuffed animals, baseball nightlight, piggy bank. You will also get a ton of clothes which you may be able to use - the hoodies and shoes hanging on the All Star Hooks were all gifts! The stuffed animals, the books and the blankets were all gifts as well so I was able to make use of them and save money for the other things I really wanted.
