Description
After multiple late term losses this room for our baby boy Cooper was an especially special project for both my husband and myself. We didn't want the room to necessarily have a theme we wanted to chose things that spoke to us. I chose pieces that could be used for years to come.
Design Inspiration
The inspiration for the room was our baby that was on the way, we wanted a room that was inviting and comfortable and special for him. The first purchase I made for the room was an Ethan Allen dresser from the 1970's that I painted black and changed out the hardware with brass pulls, the first purchase my husband made were the Star Wars prints from Pottery Barn. The room for sure has elements of both mommy and daddy!
Decorating Style
My style is eclectic, I pick pieces that mean something to myself and my family, it's both traditional and modern.

Favorite Items
My favorite item in the room is the chaise lounge. I've spent many many nights in that chair already and am looking forward to spending many more especially when he comes to enjoy story time! My husband's favorite item is the planet mobile that Cooper loves to look at and our 14 year old daughter's favorite item is a paint by number painting she made years before he was even born of a starship and planets which ended up going perfectly in the room!
Advice
Use blogs and magazines for inspiration but don't copy it, follow your heart and chose things that mean something and that you truly love, I believe when you follow that advice a room always comes together. Take your time, I like to be able to tell a story when people see my rooms about where I found an item and why I bought it, it makes the room mean more.
