Baby K’s Cozy Neutral Nursery

Description

This is our first little baby's nursery!  A little bit of a challenge was due to the fact that we decided to wait to find out what is in my belly :)  So finding "general neutral" items for decorating was tough, but fun!

Design Inspiration

The whole project started with an old antique window that I had found at an antique mall with my mom-in-law.  It was a really different shade of blue, and I loved the look of it.  Once I found that, I went on to find some beautiful bedding from Pottery Barn and pulled in some greens and tans from there :)

Decorating Style

DIY.

One of my husband and I's favorite thing to do is make our own furniture, frames, mirrors, etc.  So the nursery was no different.  mixing old and new is one of my favorite looks. And I love the thought of knowing that we made pieces in our home with our own hands!

Project Details

The baby crib is the Graco Charleston crib in white.  The bedding the ABC Nursery bedding from Pottery Barn, and a glider that we purchased on Amazon.

I made the two blue prints on canvas by spray painting over some lace, and bought the wood art from Etsy.

The dresser is actually one that I had in my room growing up and we simply painted it black and added some glass knobs from an antique store.

The antique window and wood crate book shelves complete the wall decoration.

Favorite Items

My favorite item in the room is the dresser area with the antique window.

I LOVE how the black dresser turned out!

Advice

Take your time, and know you don't have to spend a fortune on each item, splurge on a couple things and then refurbish some other pieces to mix and create a cozy feel!
