Description
This is the nursery my husband and I designed for our first child who was born 02/06/13.
Design Inspiration
We didn't have an overall inspiration for the nursery. We wanted to mix DIY and store bought items. The bedding was the foundation and we essentially used it as the inspiration for the rest of the room.
Decorating Style
Traditional. We wanted an understated, feminine nursery. I love yellow gray but felt it needed a more obviously "girl" color, so we used pink accents. We chose to paint the walls gray because of its neutrality. We also had a difficult time deciding on a shade of pink when we were considering it for the wall color. The nursery has alot of floral elements with touches of ballet.
Project Details
Crib and dresser/changer: Kalani style by Davinci
Rug: "shaggy" rug by Glenna Jean.
Glider: Best chair
Lamp: Target
Knobs on dresser: Anthropologie
Bedding: Carousel Designs
Ballet canvases: Pottery Barn Kids

DIY: The white frames above the crib and dresser were made. The smaller pink and yellow frames were purchased from Hobby Lobby. Wooden monogram was purchased from craftcuts.com. The pom pom balls were made using fabric (from Hobby Lobby) instead of tissue paper and we also used styrofoam balls instead of paper lanterns.
Favorite Items
I love the ballet canvases because I was a dancer and I also the pom pom balls. The bunnies on the shelves are Jellycats and I just think they are the softest stuffed animals ever!
Those frames within a frame within a really big frame look pretty. It looks like a charming frame factory. :D
beautiful! love it all!
