Alice’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlour Birthday Party

Description

Alice's 3rd birthday Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Party celebration.

Design Inspiration

I've always wanted to host an Ice Cream Party as it's one of Alice's favorite food. The party theme and colors were inspired by Authentique's Sweetness Collection Paper.

Decorating Style

The decorating style for this party is vintage/old-fashioned.

Project Details

With someone that have a tight budget, I hand-crafted most of the things from centerpieces, decorations, banners and even the ice cream cone favor boxes. The things I can't make, are items I purchased that were on clearance or on sale. I also used coupons to purchase some of these items from Jo-Ann's (straw dispenser) and Hobby Lobby (vintage ice cream sign).

For the invitations, banners and centerpieces, I made all these using paper machine cutter and put them all together.

The frames I got on clearance from Office Depot ($0.50/ea) and I used some leftover papers to create framed old-fashioned ice cream decorations that can be used as centerpieces for your tables.

I purchased old-fashioned sundae and ice cream glasses from Zulily ($9.99 for a set of six) and used them as vases.

As for the food, I became a bit creative, naming them as: "Hot dog split" and "ice cream cone meatballs". I cut some triangular shapes from brown paper and glued them on toothpicks to act as "cones". I also created the fun and cute sugar cookies, cupcakes, choco/sugar-dipped marshmallows and sugar-cone cupcakes.

The lovely cake was designed by myself but created by our local baker called Sugar Circus.

I had some great help and support from some people. I realized that if you want a successful party, make sure you know how to delegate and ask for help! :)

Favorite Items

My favorite items were my paper creations. The invitation and ice cream cart centerpiece were my most favorite things in this party!
