Description
With a little sister on the way, I decided to transform my son's neutral nursery into a bright, fun, camp-inspired big kid room. He loves colors and I wanted to reflect his happy personality in a room where he could play and grow.
Design Inspiration
My inspiration for this room was my son's personality and love of colors. I wanted to keep a neutral base (grey and white walls) and layer the color with bedding, accessories and all his colorful toys.
Decorating Style
I think my style is a little rustic, a little modern, and a little bohemian- kind of a California style, if there is one!

I think my favorite item in the room is the teepee. I love the way that it turned out and it's such a cozy place to ready books.
Advice
My biggest piece of advice would be to buy things you love and be patient. This room combines things that we've had for a while, antiques, handmade items, and a few new things as well. I think that slowly collecting items over time gave this room it's layered, unique look.
