At Little Crown Interiors, we talk a lot about color. We live and breathe color every day and are inspired to incorporate new and unique color schemes into our nursery designs. After all, color stimulates us mentally, emotionally and sometimes even physically, so nailing down the right color palette in a baby's room is an important decision. Quite often, we have a nursery design client who wants something different. Gone are the days of the traditional pink or blue nursery. Now more than ever, we're asked for nurseries that are unique, different and one-of-a-kind. One of the simplest ways to achieve a sense of originality is with an unconventional color scheme. We encourage our clients to go with color schemes that they would put in their own bedroom, and then "baby it up" if necessary. Just last week, we met with a new client who wanted a color scheme that was serene, calming and modern at the same time. Her favorite color is aqua, so we went from there. A few minutes later, we had agreed on a standout color palette of aqua, coral, warm grey and antique white. It can be intimidating to delve into unfamiliar color territory, but take it from us and one of our color heroes, Jonathan Adler, the risk is worth it. "So many people shy away from using colour in their homes for fear of getting it wrong...But ignorance and fear are no reason to live in a bland box. Beige is a bummer! …
