NYC-Wooden-Blocks

Yes, Christmas is less than ten weeks away, and it still feels like summer in most of the country. I've been in Los Angeles, Fort Worth and Charleston all in one week, and the temperature has been the same—80-85 during the day and 65 at night. Is fall ever coming? Regardless of the weather, the holidays are still upon us, and it is time to start thinking of those special gifts. I love these city block sculptures from Muji. Under $20 per city, they make great gifts for a friend who is a world traveler. They would look wonderful as a decorative item in a child's room. New York Paris Tokyo

New District Crib

If we believed in bumper stickers, ours would read, "We survived ABC!" Team PN took on the industry's biggest baby show in America, ABC Kids Expo, last week in Louisville, KY. Our mission was clear 1) discover new brands, 2) meet with old friends and 3) uncover the emerging trends within children's design. So when it comes down to the universal staple in the nursery, baby's crib, we noticed some major trends across some of our favorite modern brands. 1. The Blondes are Back. Not so long ago, dark stained espresso finishes, paired with stark white, wowed the world of nursery design. This time around, it was refreshing to see the industry soften its tone with classic natural wood finishes. In addition to the finish, simple, rounded crib spindles are making a comeback—a look we love. Loom Crib by Nurseryworks (psst...check out the cool, new Loom Changer behind the crib, too) Highland Crib by DaVinci All-New Robin by Oeuf 2. Industrial-Chic Goes Baby. The new District crib by Nurseryworks was all the buzz and didn't disappoint. In fact, it's actually more interesting in person. We've all heard about cribs transitioning into toddler or double beds, but what about a solid desk? Nice to know this investment piece will grow as you invest in your child's education. District Crib by Nurseryworks 3. The Love Affair with Lucite Lasts. Nurseryworks' Vetro Crib Collection sparked a clear crib obsession a few years back, but this look is no flash in the pan. Instead, it's continuing to …
