Hugo is a vibrant and curious 4-year-old with a strong point of view on what he likes. We set out to create a fun and unique room for him in our new home, letting him help with the design process in every step. We wanted him to feel creative and comfortable in the new house and by letting him have control over his own space, we knew he’d be right at home.
I designed this nursery for sweet baby Quinn after her parents contacted me last summer for help creating the perfect space for their daughter. They were looking for something that would be fun and cool for a little girl, but not too “girly.” Using a screen printed My Morning Jacket concert poster as a starting point, we pulled together a fresh look that is almost as sweet as the baby girl who gets to sleep here!
Hugo’s room was in need of a major update as he became a big brother and moved into his very own big boy bed. His sunny room in our 1909 Victorian was ready for a fresh coat of moody gray-blue paint and hot pops of red and orange, his favorite color, transforming is formerly gender-neutral nursery into a little boy’s “man cave.”
A friend and mama-to-be with Oklahoma roots is expecting her first child in a few short weeks, so a few of her closest friends got together to throw her (and her husband!) a sweet and simple Southern-inspired baby shower.(All photos by one of the lovely co-hosts Jennifer Paschal Gottlieb, Bruce Forrester Photography in San Francisco.)
