I'm a mommy to two wonderful little boys. They inspire me to be creative while making fun, wonderful memories that they will treasure forever! I love turning everyday occassions into a celebration. In addition to loving the ever changing party trends I find it exciting to think of ways to personalize an event.

H&B’s Party Express

My sons are just over a year apart, and have been having joint birthday parties since the very beginning.  This year was no exception.  They had two requests this year.  Another joint party, and a video game truck!  Since my sons are not huge gamers, I decided to alter the game truck’s logo to incorporate their initials rather than decorating with different video game themes.  When it came to planning the treat table, I wanted something a little fun, since they’re turning 8 and 9 this year and outgrowing cupcake toppers etc.  We love the crazy milkshakes that are all the rage in the big cities, so that was our inspiration for the cakes and cupcakes.  Lots of yummy candy toppings!  Also for the table, I found light up Marquee letters on Clearance at Michael’s to spell SNACKS.
I created the perfect favor boxes using a Cricut template.  The boxes includes fun shades from Oriental Trading, a bag of Skittles or M&M’s (the birthday boys favorites), and a painted rock!  Our area has a Facebook page Northeast Ohio Rocks! and people paint rocks and hide them all over for people to find, post, then rehide again.  All of the kids were thrilled to have a rock of their own to hide!
This year I decided to attempt a balloon garland to add lots of color and to fill in the huge blank front doors that served as a backdrop to our cake table.  I love how it turned out and that is my favorite party feature!

Smart Cookie – Preschool Graduation Party

Since beginning Kindergarten is new and exciting for little ones, as well as a big milestone, we decided to plan a pre-school graduation party for our son.  What better way to show off little cap and gown pics, diplomas, and adorable art projects than with a little family gathering?!
Our oldest son is creative, smart, and anxious to learn!  We always referred to him as one smart cookie, so we ran with that theme for our party.  We incorporated cookies and graduation caps, and a university type font into the decor.  We planned a family picnic for Memorial Day and added a Smart Cookie milk and cookie dessert table for our family to enjoy.  We also decided to stay with the red, white, and blue color scheme which worked perfectly for both Memorial Day and for our little “smart cookie”.

Class Clown – Preschool Graduation Party

Since beginning Kindergarten is new and exciting for little ones, as well as a big milestone, we decided to plan a pre-school graduation party for our son.  What better way to show off little cap and gown pics, diplomas, and adorable art projects than with a little family gathering?!
Our youngest son is spunky, silly, and so full of life!  My husband actually described our son as a “class clown” so we ran that theme.  We incorporated clown noses and paper airplanes to tie the class and the clown together.  We planned a family picnic for Memorial Day and added a Class Clown themed dessert table for our family to enjoy.  We also decided to stay with the red, white, and blue color scheme which worked perfectly for both Memorial Day and for our little “circus”.

Crash our Bash Angry Birds Birthday Party

My sons are turning 7 and 8 this year so they decided to plan most of their joint celebration.  They asked to have the party take place at their karate center and chose an Angry Birds theme.  Since the karate center provides the entertainment with obstacle courses, various games, and breaking boards I just needed to focus on decor, treats, and favors.  I decided to stick with the 3 main birds and the colors of red, black, and yellow.  I especially love the piggies on the treat table and the stress relief Angry Birds coloring sheets.
