Give a Child Roots with a Family Tree

One of the most frequent requests we have is to incorporate family pictures or a family tree into nursery designs. Perhaps it’s the inspiration of seeing other touching family photographs like that in Laila Ali’s nursery or the desire, at this life changing moment, to link the past and the new future. Whatever the reason, we try to combine design with the sentimental to find the perfect style of family trees for the nurseries we are working on.

Off the Wall Expressions creates this beautiful tree decal with vinyl frames; it’s available in a variety of colors and can be the feature wall for a nursery. We have also substituted the vinyl frames with 3-dimensional ones.

For some modern romance, try these custom silhouettes created by Le Papier Studio.

Vinyl Designs by CJ makes a simple, clean alternative for a more horizontal accent.

Urban Tickle‘s decal is a fun way to bring the family tree into a more graphic realm.

We also love the framed art work from Urban Tickle featuring the same wonderful owls.

Nouvelles Images makes a vintage style decal, which will give a nostalgic feel to the pictures applied within.

Family trees are really interesting, as different families have different ways of making their family trees. It’s always great to have one for your kids, so they know where they came from and so they know they have traceable roots. They will appreciate it when they grow up, trust me.

What an amazing idea, I think I could transfer the idea from baby room to guest room.
How wonderful would it be to see the entire family on the wall, we would need a Baobab tree, don’t you think?

We’re shameless nerds. We love to read—to ourselves and to our families.
