Classic and Calm Nursery

Here at Project Nursery, we think the nursery is just as much for the parents as it is for the baby. And this cool and calm nursery foots the bill perfectly—it’s just the spot for creating a relaxing and peaceful mood.

The nursery features touches of blue but still has an overall neutral feel, which will make it easy to update as baby Jude grows up. The dentil molding adorned crib and the board and batten accent wall are a classic pairing of perfection. Mom to two boys, Kristen really did a wonderful job designing this calm nursery for her newest addition! Thank you, Kristen, for sharing with us!

When thinking about the nursery for my rainbow baby, I knew I didn’t necessarily want a theme, but more of a mood or a vibe: calming and zen. It’s a space I love being in with my baby and also alone. If I need a few minutes of quiet time as a mom, I retreat to the nursery and what I lovingly call my “Zen Den.”

Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
When gathering inspiration, I looked primarily at instagram using various nursery hashtags and looking at Project Nursery’s page, including the tagged photos to see all the other beautiful nurseries out there.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
Pulling together new details/decor, specific for this baby, as well as pairing it with old favorites from my first born’s nursery was really special.

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
When picking out furniture, try to select pieces that you could envision in your child’s room as they grow or reuse in other spaces in your home.
