In the Nursery with Holy City Chic

We’re touring the nursery of Megan Stokes today from Holy City Chic, and this lovely girl’s nursery for her daughter Rosie lives up to the name chic for sure. It’s classically feminine with a serene and calming mood. You can find more of Megan’s style over on her lifestyle site where she shares her thoughts on fashion, beauty products and travel, as well as her home design projects. Plenty of eye candy over on her instagram, too! Thank you, Megan, for letting us peek into your home today.

Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
I wanted Rosie’s nursery to be soft and simple. I didn’t pull inspiration from one specific source but put the nursery together very slowly to make sure each piece worked with the next. I knew I wanted to start with blush walls, then add in white furniture and a rug. From there, I added in rattan textures and little pops of french blue. Her nursery is serene and sweet.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
Every little bit of it. Designing a nursery is my favorite thing! Each step of the process puts you a little closer to meeting your baby, so imagining your child growing up in a special space you’ve put your heart and soul into designing is incredibly fulfilling to me.

What is your favorite part or detail in your nursery?
We had a painting commissioned by Rebecca Hoyle. It’s a painting of a beach day we had right when we found out we were pregnant with Rosie. Every time I think of that day or see the painting, I just feel happy. Rebecca was a dream to work with.

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Don’t rush to finish the nursery early on in your pregnancy. Take your time finding the perfect pieces, whether they end up being heirloom pieces, new things from your favorite baby shops, or special accents from antique or consignment stores. Just take your time and let each added element build on the design as you go. And enjoy it!

Hi, can I ask you where did you buy the plush bunny?

Hi Tatiana, I think you are talking about the Bashful Bunny. They come in many sizes and colors, but here’s a link to a medium sized one that I think is pictured (affiliate link).

Hi! What color paint did you use on the walls? Planning my baby girls nursery now and I just love how light and serene the space is!
