No matter the time of year, I think the world is always in need of more love. And what better way to add a little love to your walls than with this amazing graffiti-inspired artwork featuring candy-colored hearts. I first stumbled upon the work of JGoldcrown while scooting around my beloved NYC. I was then reintroduced to his work via his colorful and sometimes cheeky Instagram feed.
JGoldcrown is an English artist/photographer now based in NYC. He left school at 17 and immediately immersed himself in the art of photography and fashion. After a trip to Africa and a brave move to NYC, he re-entered the fashion world and started incorporating mixed media into his photography and art. His work is influenced very much by the street art and graffiti of the 90s—it’s colorful, edgy and fun!
I love these pieces in a very white, or black and white room. They add personality and a huge dose of POP! The drips of color are refreshing, and they feel fresh and unexpected.
JGoldcrown’s murals pop out of the gray landscape of NYC like candy. His pieces have sold all over the world to tastemaker clients like MTV. Also available on canvas rather than direct-to-wall, the frenetic energy of these pieces becomes more restrained and the look is cool when hung on the wall.
