A First Birthday in the Hundred Acre Wood

I was recently presented with the challenge of creating a joint party for boy and girl cousins who both celebrated their birthdays in January. Both moms love the classic look of Winnie the Pooh but wanted the party to be winter themed. I was able to incorporate both and keep the theme gender neutral with this “Winter in the Hundred Acre Wood” vintage Winnie the Pooh birthday party.

The invitations included a photo of both the birthday boy and the birthday girl on the back for guests to frame as a keepsake.

The party was a mixture of rustic wood, snow and, of course, honey. A vintage Winnie the Pooh book found on Ebay added a pop of the classic Pooh red.

Snowflakes and bumble bees were placed side-by-side on the playful dessert table.

Honey Bee Themed Desserts

The sweets included two beehive fondant cakes and even Honeycomb cereal for the little guests.

Cookies were monogramed with the honorees initials and age.

Pooh’s favorite drink, Honey Iced Tea, was served along with a winter punch with vanilla ice cream on top to look like snow.
