Sweet as can be Inspiration

When I start planning a party for myself or a client, the first thing I do is sit down and gather images that inspire me for the theme. It helps me pull together ideas, narrow my focus, prioritize and formulate a plan in my head. I currently have about 16 parties to plan in progress!

One of my favorite upcoming parties uses a Sweet Shoppe theme. With dessert tables still holding strong as a party trend, why not create a whole theme around them? This invitation from Tiny Prints not only sets the theme for the party, but also dictates a very approachable and festive color palette: hot pink and turquoise, with pops of yellow and green.

Inserting a few key patterns into a party’s decor is always important to me. I found a darling paisley curtain panel at Layla Grace that could be used as a dessert table backdrop and then re-used in your daughter’s room after the party—gotta love that! Simple paper fans or daisies can be placed on a sticks and used around the party to look like large lollipops. Floral pomander balls in bright colors sitting atop cake stands would make a perfect centerpiece (the balls kind of look like gumballs, don’t they?). Have you ever made one of these before? Heavenly Blooms did a tutorial for me a while back that I always find helpful.

The great thing about a sweet shoppe dessert table is that your party favors are taken care of for you! You can provide cellophane bags or small boxes for people to fill. Talk about bang for your buck! It’s a decoration, activity and party favor all rolled into one!

I think this sweet shoppe themed party is something that’s easy and fun to do. Many parties highlight their dessert or sweet treats table anyway, so why not make it the theme?

I did a party without any particular theme but merely loaded on sweet treats, and delicious-looking decor. And it was really a hit!

I saw this post last week, and I decided to do just this sort of party for my 4-year-old. I am not the ideal mom when it comes to planning parties, because I really hate the hassle and I am not really as creative as I would like to be. So yeah, I think all I need to do is load up on sweet treats and desserts and get some sweet-colored decorations.

That would be freakinn awesome! I probably think this because I’m a teen myself… lols. But yeah. They had a Teen like Survivor show called Endurance and everything was fine with that. Nothing outrageous or inappropriate happened. That was good show.
