Baby’s First Report Card

No one told me breastfeeding would be difficult and somewhat painful in the beginning. It always looked so easy and natural. After all, I have the parts and it is simply something I was born to do, right? Well, I read the all books but I think I may have skipped this chapter because when my baby arrived, I wasn’t mentally prepared and didn’t realized how much nursing would impact my time and my life. Needless to say, I didn’t ask for help. I gave up fairly early and as a result endured countless stares in the Nordstrom’s “Women’s Lounge” for whipping out bottles of formula for feedings – good God, was it annoying. So the second time around, I told myself that I could do this. I knew what lay ahead and promised myself that I would be a better planner. So far, so great thanks to support from family, friends, a hospital lactation consultant and the eco-friendly Lullaboards seen here…

Breastfeeding or not, the Lullaboards make for a great report card. You or your baby’s caregiver can track everything from feeding times to pumping ounces to dirty diaper changes. The dry-erase boards are a paper saving solution and come in four convenient layouts: newborn (0-3), newborn with pump (0-3), baby (3-12), and toddler. Ideal for hanging in then kitchen, these stylish boards also come in 12 colors/patterns and retails for $25.

Write, read, wipe, repeat – it’s doesn’t get any more practical than this. Between managing three small children, popular blog  BabyElan Daily, Stationary Boutique Paper Luxe Studio and PR & Graphic Design business, D’luxe Press & Design, it’s no wonder why busy mom Sarah Masci came up with such a helpful invention. Sarah is currently offering Project Nursery readers 25% off their Lullaboard purchase by using code PN25. Offer expires on May 31, 2010. I sincerely hope you find it as useful as I did. Thanks Sarah.

I love the idea! But $25 seems expensive….especially since you will need all 3 boards for the different ages.

Cheri, I hope you take advantage of the 25% off coupon. I see your point about all three however you’d be supporting a small mom business and the eco-friendly benefits are far greater :) I think it makes a great gift as well.

Actually, I’m thinking this is a great idea for daycare! They send home a half sheet of paper everyday with my kids meals/diapers/naps/etc. One of these and a marker in the bag with her milk/food and no more paper to through away! Awesome! Thanks for the idea! Maybe I’ll buy a bunch and donate them so the other babies can get the same fabulous treatment.

Thanks so much for the great write up Melisa! I appreciate it.

bdaiss, YES! That is the exact reason I started this business! I used to come home to two sheets of paper each day – one for each of my boys. What a waste of paper, especially since I just threw it away after reading what they had for lunch, how long they napped & whether or not they went #2. The activities for the day were always fun to read, but again, not necessary to keep on record. Hence, the Lullaboard!

I made one for myself & found that it worked excellent! So slowly started making them for others & the business was born. They are excellent for daycares!
