Are you in need of a birthday theme suitable for summer? Well I have a party idea packed with summer FUN! Welcome to “Camp Brandt.”
My oldest son turned four, and his birthday falls around the time kids get out of school, so what better way to celebrate summer than with a “summer camp” themed party. Guests were welcomed with a camp directory.
The four main activities set up were the following:
1. Lil’ campers were given mini fishing poles with bobbers filled with gummy worms.
2. We held cardboard canoe races.
3. If the campers wanted to get crafty, a tie-dye t-shirt station was available.
4. A s’mores bar was set up so everyone could build their own s’mores creation.
We made camp packs with colored, drawstring canvas bags and applied ironed-on Camp Brandt logos. Campers were then able to create their own camp survival kits.
Items such as toothbrush/toothpaste combos, glow sticks, sunscreen, sunglasses and candy were a few of the selections.
Goldfish crackers, trail mix and gummy worms were put out in plastic berry baskets for snacking.
Candy was creatively placed into glass vases and then displayed inside lanterns.
Each camper received their very own boxed lunch from the mess hall. The boxed lunch included a PB&J sandwich, chips, applesauce, a juicebox and a napkin. All of the kids LOVED getting their very own box to open and snack on.
Dinner was followed up with delicious cookies that were made to match by the amazingly talented Casey’s Confections, and delectible cupcakes were topped with delightful fondant toppers from Edible Details.
Here is a fun way to take a plain cake and dress it up to match the theme. DIY cakes have become my party staple. I start with a plain cake from the bakery, then I added a flame cookie from Casey’s Confections, a few twix bars to resemble fire logs and some rock candy to look like embers, and there you have it…your very own campfire cake!
I placed the birthday candles down into the cake in front of the flame cookies so it looked real! The birthday boy loved this!
This was such a fun theme and perfect for this time of year. There are so many activities that you can plan to go along with your very own Summer Camp Party. We love seeing your party ideas, so make sure to upload your photos into the gallery.

Sadly, my kids’ birthdays don’t fall on the summer. I would have wanted to plan something like this!

I love your printables! I am working on our VBS this year and we are doing a camping theme- and I can’t find anything as cute as your printables- would you mind sharing where you got them?
