One of the best things about being a nursery designer is getting to come back to my client’s homes when they have their second (or third!) child. I love to visit with the little ones that have grown so much. One of my clients contacted me when she was pregnant with her second, and we got started on designing the nursery for baby #2.

The first nursery we did for this client was neutral and serene, and she wanted the new nursery to be similar, but with a few little pops of blue. We decided to keep the larger pieces neutral and also add some natural textures as well for contrast and warmth. She loved the look of light wood, so we used a light wood crib as the foundation of the design. Then it was time to choose wallpaper!

The layout of this nursery was a little tricky, so we decided to just wallpaper the back wall behind the crib. We chose a subtle wave pattern wallpaper in white and pale blue to give the room just a hint of an ocean vibe. We added a slate blue crib sheet for some contrast.
This client also absolutely loves dogs and wanted include a little dog touch in this nursery (as we did in the last one). So we added a sweet dog art print over the crib for a little vintage touch.

We added a white dresser that had some natural texture to balance the light wood crib on the other side of the room. The large round gold mirror helps to break up the white wall, and adds helps to bounce light around the room. The slate blue changing pad cover also coordinates with the drapery and crib sheet.

The floor plan of this nursery had a little niche area, which was perfect for the ivory glider and cane side table (which has storage in it!). Since the wall is set back, it gives the glider more room to swivel back and forth. We also added custom slate blue drapery over the neutral roman shades so the nursery can be nice and dark.
We love working with repeat clients and can’t wait to see what’s next for this family!
