Designer Michelle Brown, of Belyn Studio, is sharing the beautiful Bohemian Palms girls nursery she designed for her daughter. We love how dreamy the wall decals look in the space. Her careful placement of the wall decals maximizes the drama without anything looking too busy. The neutral color palette is the perfect backdrop for the pops of pink in the nursery. You can follow along with more of Michelle’s design work on instagram. We’ll let Michelle take it from here with more detail about the room below!
As a mom and a designer it’s important to be able to give my children a room and space they can grow into and call their own.
Until we finally moved into our new house that we were building, my daughter either shared a room with her brother or parents. So I really wanted to give my daughter a room that felt like hers.
Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
My daughter. I wanted to design her room to fit her personality—gentle, feminine, and care free. Plus, she loves piggies—her favorite stuffy is a pig! I wanted it to feel like a girl’s room without being overly girly.
What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
Pulling it all together. I’ve been waiting so long to complete my daughter’s own room.
What is your favorite part or detail in your nursery?
The wall decals and the mirror are my favorites.
What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Keep it simple and neutral. This way, as your child grows and they develop their own taste/likes/dislikes. it can fit into their room without you needing to change the whole theme of their room.
