Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m just smitten with this girl’s room. It’s no surprise really since it comes from the über talented Erin Wheeler, of Sunny Circle Studio. Seriously, check out her instagram—every space is so inspiring! This big girl room for her three-year-old daughter Zora masterfully combines a polished design with just the right amount of whimsy, making it perfect for a little girl to enjoy now and grow with. Thank you, Erin, for sharing with us!

I’m Erin Wheeler—stylist, designer, amateur photographer, mom and home decor enthusiast. I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband, two kids and dog Buster.
What inspired your room design?
I wanted the room to feel whimsical and also sophisticated. I’m very much inspired by Scandinavian simplicity.
What was your favorite part of the process?
Seeing my daughter’s face when she got to see the finished room.
Designing a big kid room is different than a nursery because you know your little resident’s personality better. Anything special you included this time around?
She wanted it to feel very girly and happy, and requested lots of dolls, princesses and a new bed.
Any challenges you had to work around?
She keeps pulling the canopy down from the ceiling (she is a very curious and rascally three-year-old).

Do you have any words of advice for other designers and parents?
Keep things simple, find cute toy storage and keep the color palette consistent.

Love everything about this! Where are the curtains from?
Beth
Hi Lauren, I just added the link to the curtains beneath the window seat photo.

Love this space! Where is the dresser from?
Beth
Hi Nic, The dresser was from IKEA, but it is discontinued.
tiffany
can I ask where the original mirror was from? I see you linked something similar but I really like the shape of the one pictured.
Beth
Hi Tiffany, I think it was from Urban Outfitters but it’s no longer available. If you do a google search for rattan mirror, you can find other similar options. Good luck in your search!
Debbie
Where did you get the large pom poms that are hanigng with the bed canopy?
Beth
Hi Debbie, They look like Bright Lab Lights to me. But just a guess.
Monica
HI Beth – Can I ask what dimensions you ordered for the window seat cushion? I just ordered the two bins and whatever size cushion you ordered looks to fit on their perfectly!
Beth
Hi Monica, I’m actually the Editor here at Project Nursery. This room was designed by Erin Wheeler, of Sunny Circle Studio. I’m afraid I don’t have the info you are looking for. Good luck with your design!
Angel
From where did you get those felt cactus plants. They are so cute.
Beth
Hi Angel, The owner of this room didn’t list the source, but I did a quick search of felt cactus on Etsy (affiliate link), and there are so many cute options. Happy shopping!
