Once upon a time, I thought all play mats and activity gyms were created equal. Soft landing, colorful designs, cute baby things hanging from above—how different could they be? That was before I met Lovevery.
The Lovevery Play Gym is bright, beautiful, and specially equipped to help aid in my baby’s development during their crucial first year of life. Whoa, tall order! But seriously, this is a baby item that is actually helping me parent and helping my baby learn.
We will start where I started—okay, it’s really good looking! And for good reason! Separated into five areas, the Lovevery Play Gym mimics a “pre-school center set-up” but for babies. There is a space for learning about texture, sounds, hiding and finding, colors, and a pop-up display for holding various learning cards. Right now, my baby loves to lift his head high and look at the super-graphic black and white cards. Watching him learn to focus while strengthening his upper body makes me feel like I am doing something right! And that’s a feeling we all desperately crave as parents.
Worth its weight in gold, the Lovevery Play Gym comes with a durable and handy Activity Guide. This is your parental roadmap for playing with newborns. Because when I was told to “play with my baby” I straight up had no clue what that meant. The Activity Guide is divided into six sections, taking you from birth to one year old. Each age-range section has facts about baby’s current developmental stage and activities you can do together.
The relief that comes from knowing how to purposefully play and interact with your tiny baby is so, so good. Parenting in today’s world of information overload can be exhausting and confusing. Being able to lean on the experts at Lovevery (who also helped build the Happy Family Organics brand) for developmental guidelines in the form of play is one less thing that I will worry about and one more way that I will enjoy the baby stage!
