In the Nursery with Ashley Terk Hodges

Today we are touring the gorgeous nursery of Ashley Hodges. It has a crisp and clean style in a neutral color palette that makes for a serene and calming space. We are loving the details—all so carefully chosen—that layer in just the right amount of texture and interest. You can catch more of Ashley and baby Ryser on her blog and on instagram. Thank you, Ashley, for sharing with us. We’ll let you take it from here!

Ashley Hodges and Son Ryser

My name is Ashley TerKeurst Hodges and I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, until I met the love of my life, David. David and I got married on April 17th, 2016, and it was by far the best decision I have ever made. We now live in Los Angeles, CA, where my husband is a pastor, and I serve alongside of him as well as run my lifestyle and fashion blog ashleyterk.com. We have one child, Ryser, he is two months old, and a dog named Zola. They are our world!

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Decide what look you are going for first. Do you want a theme or do you want it to be more neutral? Once you decide on the look, I would suggest making a mood board or inspiration board either on your computer or on Pinterest to put everything in one place! Then buy the three big pieces first: crib, chair/rocker and dresser/changing table. Once those big items are in, you can start adding the design touches like the rug, pillows, plants, artwork, photos, accessories, etc.
