We took the new phil&teds Smart Stroller for a test drive (well, lots of test drives!) to get to know the features and functionality that parents around the world are raving about.
Right out of the box, I noticed that the Smart is super sleek and streamlined. Weighing in at just 23.5 pounds with a 22.4″ width, this stroller is ideal for my grab-and-go lifestyle. I can hoist it into my trunk, store it neatly in my home, and best of all, fit through tighter spaces in boutiques and restaurants. The Smart even has a super-accessible storage basket that can hold up to 22 pounds of your must-have baby items and shopping treasures.
My two-year-old daughter hopped right in the phil&teds Smart Stroller, and I could tell within moments that she was going to love the ride. The seat sits a bit more upright allowing her greater visibility than other strollers on the market, which is absolutely perfect for keeping my girl entertained on walks and trips.
This positioning allows me to see her better, which increases our ability to engage with each other and chat, chat, chat about the world around us. I love this, and it’s the number one reason that I reach for this stroller!
I use our Smart stroller for neighborhood walks, park trips and city visits. That means less than perfect sidewalks and bumpy off-the-path trails. The Aerotech tires and suspension system handle the ever-changing terrain like a champ. Plus, the air-like tire (that isn’t actually filled with air) is super durable and ensures you’ll never find yourself with a flat.
If my no-nap toddler were actually into rest, I would love to take advantage of the Smart’s lie-flat functionality that features an integrated back screen to protect littles from the elements. My daughter does, however, take advantage of the front hood that is super large and made with 50+ UPF fabric. (They also offer a smart sun cover and smart screen cover, sold separately.)
Plus, there is a window on the hood that doesn’t make noise when you open and close it! Waking a sleeping baby due to hook-and-loop closures could not be more frustrating, so this feature gives the phil&teds Smart major bonus points!
Speaking of babies, baby number two is on the way for our family, and I can’t help but think of how products will work with our family as we enter back into the newborn phase.
