In the Nursery with Fashionable Hostess

Today we are touring the lovely gender neutral nursery of Amanda Gluck from FashionableHostess.com. Amanda is a Party Stylist, Decor Expert, and mom of three. On her blog she shares tablescapes to inspire your upcoming parties and holiday hosting, events she throws for various brands and influencers, as well as a peek into her own beautiful home, which she’s always changing up to stay on-trend with all the latest in design. Her nursery for baby boy Dane exudes a certain sense of peacefulness and calm—just what you want in a nursery space. Thank you, Amanda, for letting us into your home today!

Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
Since I don’t find out the gender of my babies while pregnant, I am always given the hard task of decorating a nursery that is gender neutral. I really love a gray color palette, so I decided to make those my colors, which gave the room a really calm ambience.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
I loved choosing custom drapery. I ended up choosing Pinch Pleat Drapes with a beautiful Ivory Linen Scatter Dot Fabric (from the Kate Spade Collection) with a blackout lining, which was hung from a stainless steel bar. The Shade Store was more than a pleasure to work with through the process, helping with renderings, understanding my vision for fabric, and creating something that worked perfectly for the room!

What is your favorite part or detail in your nursery?
I loved finding little details that make the room a bit special. Like the Elephant Mobile from RH Baby & Child that hangs from the ceiling and the Persian Rug, which is a great print and price.

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Focus on purchasing the big things like your crib and changing table, and don’t worry about the accessories, toys, and blankets because people love to gift those things once the baby comes!
