In the Nursery with Fantastically Fit (again!)

We LOVE when we get to revisit a family that we’ve featured before, so when we got the opportunity to take a closer look at Amy Clevenger’s new nursery for baby girl Brodie, we jumped at the chance. Amy, of Fantastically Fit, first welcomed us into her home to tour her daughter Tenley’s boho nursery and her new nursery does not disappoint. This time she pulled in the help of one of our favorites—Emerson Grey Designs! Together they worked magic. Thank you, Amy, for sharing your home with us again!

I am a Los Angeles based food, fitness and baby instagrammer as well as a school counselor at a Junior High School. I am married to my college sweetheart (we have been together for 12 years!) We have created an amazing life together of two beautiful baby girls, two dogs and two cats.

Design inspiration can come from anywhere—what inspired your nursery/kid room design?
When I first found out I was pregnant, our first child Tenley was only three months old. So, when we found out we were having another baby girl, I honestly had zero ideas of what I wanted to do. I felt like I had just completed her nursery! However, I saw the Anewall Jolie Mural wallpaper and knew that I HAD to have it in Brodie’s room.

Did you have any unexpected obstacles when creating this room? How did you overcome them or spin them to your advantage?
Unfortunately, the layout of the bedroom itself is a bit awkward. Of the four walls in the room, one is 80% sliding glass door, one is a large closet with mirrored doors, and one is partially blocked by the bedroom door. This left me with really only one full wall to work with. After struggling for some time, trying to figure out how I was going to get everything I needed to fit into the room, I decided to look for help. That is where Bri from Emerson Grey Designs came in. Virtually, she was able to help me choose items that fit my aesthetic and were in my budget that would actually fit the space.

What is that one thing that everyone mentions when they step into this space?
The first thing that everyone mentions is always the wallpaper! It really is a showstopper. It adds the perfect feminine touch without being too busy or off-putting. I’ve never been a big fan of wallpaper, but the Anewall Jolie Mural has made me a believer.

What is the one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when they’re starting their own nursery design projects?
Before you know it, your child will be crawling and walking. I am so thankful that in both of my nurseries I left a large space in the center for my girls to play. Both of my nurseries are full of light, so we end up spending a lot of time in there, and I always appreciate the floor space. On top of that, you will certainly end up adding items like toys as they grow. Don’t be afraid to leave some open space for when your needs for the nursery change. Your nursery should be a dynamic space that grows with your child.

I got it on etsy. I actually had a horrible experience with the company which is why I did not have project nursery link it. But, there are a ton of great ones on etsy! :)

I love the nursery! What color did you paint the other walls? Yours look prettier than what I have in mind.

    Hi Leilani,
I actually matched the color from our previous house because I loved it so much. So, unfortunately I do not have the name. But I do know the original color was a grey from Lowes Brand. I hope that helps!

    Hi Sarah,

I found the pdf file on etsy and printed them. I got the frames from Ikea.
