Pear and Kale Stage Two Baby Food Recipe

This pear and kale stage two baby food recipe is the perfect way to give your baby an extra dose of veggies. The sweet taste of the pear blends smoothly with the kale, making this nutrient rich meal extra yummy. At this stage, you can blend the pear and kale raw, after thoroughly washing, but you can also steam for 3-5 minutes before blending, if desired. This recipe is suitable for babies 9 months and up. Always make sure your baby’s food is a consistency he can handle and that he’s been introduced to the foods separately first.

Pear and Kale Stage 2 Baby Food
Makes about 6oz

Note: Use organic ingredients whenever possible.
1 ripe Bartlett pear – washed, cored and chopped
1/2 cup fresh baby kale – thoroughly washed

Place the pear and kale into your food processor and pulse until a mushy mash consistency is achieved. Mushy mash is thicker than a completely smooth and creamy stage one meal but still not chunky. This meal will stay fresh in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge and up to 3 months in the freezer.
