“You’re Welcome” (in advance) for these Moana Birthday Party Ideas

Make way, make way… It’s time for a Moana birthday! Every little girl is in love with the latest Disney Princess—scratch that, Daughter of the Chief!—and we couldn’t resist creating our own celebration based on the popular movie. From balloon waves to pineapple beach balls, this Polynesian ocean party is popping’ with Moana birthday party ideas!

With palm leaves, sunshine and ocean, our invitation sets the stage for a bright, tropical and playful event.

Our color scheme is straight out of the movie with ocean hues with bright pops of coral. Balloons played a huge part in our party decorations, they’re such a fun and inexpensive way to make a big impact and worked beautifully with our backdrop.

We mixed in faux monstera and palm leafs into the gorgeous balloon garland from One Stylish Party and created our own ocean wave with twist and bubble balloons.

Moana’s flower crown from the movie inspired the cake topper with sugar leaves and plumeria. I trimmed the bottom cake tier with three shades of blue-green waves to represent the movie’s ocean character.

Heart of Te Fiti cookies were created with store-bought sugar cookies and an icing pouch for an easy DIY themed dessert.

Of course, we had to have some themed candy to go with our party—Volcano candy for the Te Ka character and green chocolates for Te Fiti round out our sweets table.

Our printable coconut character faces and tropical fauna toppers on the chocolate cupcakes and coconut cups create “kinda cute” Kakamora.

The Oriental Trading coconut cups (similar), bamboo straws and Plumeria clips add the perfect touch to our “Coconut Water” beverages. Additional drink options were bottles of Izze with our grass and leaf skirt bottle wraps.

We created favor bags with our printable “You’re welcome” favor tags and fringed tissue paper to look like grass skirts. The bags were filled with volcano candy, pineapple lollis, flower leis, Moana tattoos and more!
