Sam Simon’s Top Nursery Picks from the Architectural Digest Show

We are entering one of my favorite times of the year, design trade show season! The Architectural Digest Show grows larger and more impressive each year. It’s an opportunity to meet vendors directly, as well as spot new trends and be introduced to new design resources.

One of my favorites was Matthew Studios—their super luxe line of handmade hardware rocks! Literally! Available in rock crystal, quartz, rose quartz and more, these pieces add a touch of edgy elegance to any drawer or cabinet. Rock on.

Trend alert! Rock crystals are on the horizon. Flavor Paper never ceases to amaze me and is always one step ahead of the curve with their wall coverings. One of their newest, “Quartz It Is” wallpaper, is hand-screened and available on a bunch of different paper types, like metallic silver and gold mylar! Yes, these gems gleam! The scale is livin’ large and luxurious.

Stylish shelf decor can be hard to find. The Bronsen Company and their menagerie of animal heads delight the eye. I appreciate the visual references to cubist artwork. These guys serve up a geometric aesthetic that is clean and modern. Say what’s up to that gang—Hamilton the Hippo, Lewis the Lion, Gerard the Giraffe, Grayson the Gorilla and Calvin the Crocodile.

Toy storage is a challenge for most parents. DucDuc NYC  teamed up with Scandinavian design house muuto design to bring us these felted bins. Super thick, soft-sided yet rigid, they are a super way to corral small items, diapers or toys. The restore basket is available in several vibrant colors.
