Amy Clevenger is an LA-based food, fitness and baby instagrammer who shares her love of healthy living and life as a busy mom. She welcomed her sweet baby girl, Tenley, this past summer and is sharing her boho-inspired nursery with us all today. Thank you, Amy, for welcoming us into your space!
In 2013, I started my instagram account @FantasticallyFit to help keep me accountable in my journey to getting healthy. My brand has since expanded to include anything healthy lifestyle-related and baby items. I’m happily married to my college sweetheart and live in Los Angeles, California. We have a 10-month-old daughter, another baby girl on the way (due July 2017), and we also have two cats and two dogs. Needless to say, we have a full house!
Crib | Bookshelves | Rug
Once I found out I was having a girl, I knew I wanted two things for the nursery—I did not want the room to look like it had thrown up pink, and I wanted the nursery to be something that she could grow into over time. Then I found the rug and just knew I had to design the space around it.
My personal style is simple. I love white, gold and gray, and I am also drawn to all things boho and dreamcatchers. I knew the walls would be light gray like the rest of our house and all the furniture would be white with natural wood or gold accents.
When I was looking at furniture for the nursery, I was looking for items that either already had white with natural wood (like the crib) or furniture that I could alter and add those accents. I found a used dresser that we repainted and added natural wood knobs, and for the shelves, we sprayed the brackets gold. Oh and by me/we, I mean my husband.
The one thing that EVERYONE mentions about the nursery is the rug. I get so many questions about where I got the rug and how much they love it. By the way, it is the Elodie Rug from Lulu and Georgia.
My favorite part of the process would have to be seeing my vision come together! I had it in my head, but it honestly turned out even better than I imagined. I also love looking around the room and seeing our DIY projects and the dreamcatcher my sister-in-law made for my baby shower that we were able to incorporate into the room. I just love how serene and relaxing her room is. I go in there and automatically feel relaxed and at peace.
If I could give any advice, it would be to make sure the room is functional for what you need and know that what you need may change. We did not initially have a glider in the room because I figured I could use our downstairs couch, etc. Boy, was I wrong! So, when our daughter was three months old, we rearranged some things to make a glider fit in the room. It was life changing! I can’t wait to show you all baby nursery #2 when it is all done!
