Let’s be honest—who doesn’t dream about living by the beach? And the gorgeous, sunny weather and ocean views aren’t the only things to love about this seemingly idyllic life. Whether it’s a nautical vibe that’s quintessentially Cape Cod, surf-inspired California cool or the Palm Beach style that’s equal parts tropical and glam, living by the water seems to be the ticket to designing spaces that are undeniably chic. That’s why we were so excited to get a peek inside the nursery of eight-month-old Grace, the daughter of Beth Aschenbach, co-founder of Palm Beach Lately, a lifestyle blog that gives readers an insider’s perspective on modern-day Palm Beach lifestyle. Alongside her sister Danielle, Beth blogs about the latest trends to emerge from her hometown and shares her passion for fashion, home and style.
Grace’s swan-inspired nursery might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Palm Beach style, but with the help of interior design company Luxe Report Designs, Beth created a lovely space for her first-born that is true to her style and absolutely one-of-a-kind. There’s one beautiful element after another in the room, from stately swan artwork and decor, to glam gold accents, to a stunning flower feature that is TO. DIE. FOR. Thanks so much for sharing, Beth!

Design inspiration can come from anywhere—what inspired your nursery design?
I knew I wanted paper flowers but originally thought I would spell Grace’s name out over the crib. Luxe Report Designs suggested I do the large paper flowers as more of an art treatment on the wall. I love flamingos, but they are a huge part of our Palm Beach Lately branding, so I didn’t want it to be too similar. They created a swan soiree themed nursery, inspired by the swan print by Made by Girl, and I fell in love! The swan is similar to a flamingo but took on a whole style of its own.

How did your personal style influence your design choices?
I wanted a stylish room that was not too sophisticated for a baby. My go-to colors are gold, blush and creams, and the room complements my taste perfectly.
Now that the room is complete, what was your favorite part of the process? And what do you love the most about the finished design?
Seeing it all come together! I love the soft and feminine pink of the walls and chair and the pops of glam of the étagère, curtains and mirror with the edge of the Caitlin Wilson spotted rug.

What is that one thing that everyone mentions when they step into this space?
How peaceful and beautiful the room is. I knew I would spend many hours and late nights nursing in the chair, so it was important to me that the room be a serene space.
What were your nursery must-haves when you started? Has that changed since you started using the space?
We purchased the crib and dresser from Restoration Hardware and knew we wanted to incorporate those main pieces, no matter what direction we went with the decor. Luxe Report Designs showed me the acrylic and brass étagère from a vintage shop in town, and I had to have it!

Beautiful! Do you know where the table lamps were purchased from? The ones on the changing pad dresser? Thanks!
Maggie
It’s lovely, although I do wonder how realistic/practical this room is. I mean, how on earth will you actually change a baby on a table with two lamps on it?

What color pink is on the walls? Did I miss it somewhere in the post?
