Last week was the premiere of the new Lifetime series, Devious Maids. The story, by the same creator as Desperate Housewives, isn’t exactly child friendly, but there was one scene in particular that was very memorable to us and not because of any scandal. The scene took place in the nursery of a lavish Beverly Hills home, designed in bright colors with modern furniture and black and white accents.
The nursery is large, bold and colorful—the set decorator definitely did a great job! The space has lots of customized pieces, like the draperies and the changing table (which we suspect is a Nurseryworks piece with the circles painted on). We felt a little inspired and created our own rendition of this space with some easier-to-find pieces.
Royal Blue Curtains, Bird Crib Mobile, Yellow Crib, Zebra Floor Lamp, Zebra Stuffed Animal, Black Glider and Chevron Ottoman, Orange Storage Basket, Dots Wall Art, Red and White Dresser
This nursery design has just about every color in the rainbow, so it could work for either a boy or a girl. A quick safety note: this nursery shows the crib right in front of a large glass window, which is definitely not recommended but does look good on TV.

Hmn…makes me curious about that show. I was never a fan of Desperate Housewives, but I’ll try to check this one out because you mentioned it.

I say that life-sized zebra is rather refreshing after all that craze over life-sized giraffes!

I love all the playful colors here and nice mishmash of patterns.
