DIY: Bear Pop Party Treats

Months before my son’s birthday, I started asking him what kind of birthday party he wanted, and to my surprise, he was very sure about wanting a Lorax party. I’m pretty sure he picked this theme due to the fact that watching The Lorax has become part of our EVERYDAY routine. I was thrilled, not only about the theme, but the fact he was involved in choosing it. The party turned out fabulous, and I will be sharing all of the details soon, but in the meantime, I wanted to share a sweet treat that I made specially for him.

Have you seen the movie? Remember those silly, marshmallow-eating Barbaloot Bears? Well, here is my version of them—great for a party, class treat, rainy day project or playdate. You won’t believe how easy they are to make!

Supplies: Mini chocolate iced doughnuts, Mini M&M’s, Chocolate frosting (in the can), Candy eyes, Mini oreos, Lollipop sticks (optional)

First, start by filling the center of the doughnut with frosting to make the base of the nose, and then top with a mini brown M&M.

Next, take two candy eyes and place them above the nose and push them slightly into the frosting to hold them in place.

Now, take the mini oreos and break them in half. Using the frosting, pipe some on the ear and place one half to the top of the doughnut. Repeat this step to make both ears. The frosting will act as glue to hold the cookies on the doughnut.

You can either stop at this step or as a last step, you can insert a lollipop stick!

This is one treat you can’t mess up, and it’s easy enough to get the kids helping too!

This must be really fun to make. Even the kids can help put the eyes and the nose.
