Design Reveal: All Aflutter Girl’s Room

This was a unique project for me because my client wanted a big girl space for her daughter who is just two years old. The idea was to create a fun reading space for the parents to cuddle with their growing toddler now, which would eventually become her big girl bed.

The custom bed is built with large storage drawers underneath and has the ability to be expanded into a full bed if needed for those tween years.

The style of their home is contemporary, but we wanted to make the room softer and more feminine. We wallpapered the tall walls with Nina Campbell’s Birdcage Walk and made a custom curvy headboard for the daybed. The dresser is a timeless piece from Bungalow 5, which is so versatile that it could work in almost any room of the house. The crib is the Classic by Oeuf, but it was toned down and custom painted pink with little floral details.

The silhouettes on the pillows were added after the fact. My client already had the pillows from their previous house, so we just had some felt silhouettes made from a photo of her daughter and sewed them on.
