Baby Gifts with a Personal Touch

When I was a child, I received some cheap blue hair clips with my name inscribed on them that I absolutely adored and wore almost everyday. They were my pride and joy. My dear friend Cornelia always points me in the right direction for sites that make fantastic monogrammed baby gifts. There is something so special about receiving a gift with your new baby’s name or initials. These are a few outstanding ones that will make you look like a superstar the next time gift giving comes around.

This is one good-looking letter pillow from Jonathan Adler. Wish you could get it in other colors? Use Jonathan Adler’s custom design tool for rugs, pillows and totes on the site, and knock yourself out.

Personalized diaper covers are always sweet.

My daughter received this Karen Katz personalized book with her name on the front and throughout the story. It is one of my all-time favorite baby gifts.

I adore this personalized ceramic plate set and cannot wait to buy it for my sister-in-law.

This personalized shift dress is perfect for tea parties and playdates.

Do you have a favorite site for personalized gifts? I bet our readers would love to hear your suggestions.

I totally remember those hair clips! I’m obsessing over that Alder pillow. Forget the kids, mama wants one of those. I love your posts Jo.

The personalized book is a really great gift idea. I think it’s something that most children will really love and treasure because they get to star in their own story!

I remember that in the past, everyone’s most valued personal items were monogrammed. From our grandmothers’ handkerchiefs, to their pillowcases, to their chemise, to their lockets.

I can remember how surprised our kids were to know they were in the story. In this electronic toy age, anything to keep them tied to books is worth it.

FRAULINE: Yes, I agree! Monogrammed items were really huge back in the old days. I guess this was the time when most women know embroidery, and special items can be easily personalized. These days, it’s all about commercialized stuff that are mass-produced.

I’ve always thought that personalized stuff were cheesy. But all of these changed my mind, especially the personalized book!

    Hi MapleSyrup:

I guess we’re opposites then. I just love personalizing stuff and most of it are DIY. I do love the pieces here!

I visited your Etsy shop and fell in love with the block letters and the bunny applique bib. Do you personalize the bibs as well?
